A Few of My Favorite (Lettuce) Leaves

As trubute to Julie Andrews in the Sound of Music, I titled this poem "A Few of My Favorite Leaves" to pay homage to the infamous lyrics seen in "My Favorite Things," and commemorate my apprecaition for the various "leaves" that make up the Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises.

A Few of My Favoirte Leaves (2015)

Meatballs on pasta and avocados on toast,

Wood-fired ovens and grilled chicken roasts,

Chocolate chip cookies, bacon infused with recipes,

These are a few of my favorite Leaves!

Beach house décor with summer sun galore,

Summer House Santa Monica, only the best rapport,

Trifecta fudge cake this Christmas eve,

These are a few of my favorite Leaves!

Bloody Mary bar and mozzarella margherita,

Red or white wine (pizza) from Stella Barra Pizzeria,

Cauliflower hummus and baked local goat cheese,

These are a few of my favorite Leaves!

When the menu arrives, when the waiter intervenes,

When I’m feeling hungry,

I simply remember my favorite Leaves,

And then you’ll know where I’ll be.

Seared sea scallops and olive oil cake,

RPM Italian and RPM Steak,

Giuliana and Bill Rancic help everyone believe,

These are a few of my favorite Leaves!

Miso-glazed salmon and tempura sweet potato,

Pulled chicken nachos and slow-cooked, pulled pork taco,

Soy paper for a buck to seven salads, Hub 51 changes seasonally,

Head underground for some Sub 51 fun,

Make your way to Paris Club, a night to remember, bar none,

Lower level lounge to bistro and bar, no reprieves,

These are a few of my favorite Leaves!
